MOMENTUM INTERSECTION
UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO
CENTER FOR VISUAL ARTS
Momentum | Intersection is a collaboration of industry, design, and art. Inspired by the studio glass movement, The Arts Commission seeks to provide new collaborations between applications of glass as an artistic medium and manufacturing processes.
With the support of Pilkington Glass North America part of Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd., INTERSECTION features new works by Catie Newell and Alibi Studio (Detroit, MI), Sean Merchant (Brunswick, OH), and Zac Weinberg (Maumee, OH). Through new collaborations between applications of glass as an artistic medium and manufacturing processes, each project exemplifies new approaches to float glass. The exhibit is in connection with the Momentum Festival (September 19-21) in downtown Toledo and will be part of the Arts Commission Art Loop events on Sept. 19 and SculptureX 2019.
